Dr. Ana Čehovin

{Name + first and last name: 1}

January 2014 – Present
SENIOR POSTDOCTORAL SCIENTIST
Sir William Dunn School of Pathology, University of Oxford

I study the mechanistic basis of the spread of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) plasmids. I collaborate with bioinformaticians and machine learning scientists to study the molecules that limit the spread of AMR. Additionally, I am a key member of the Gonococcal Vaccine Initiative (GVI), an international collaborative project aiming at developing vaccines against the development of AMR.

October 2019 – September 2021
LECTURER IN PATHOLOGY
Exeter College, University of Oxford

Organising tutor for Biomedical Sciences and Pre-clinical Medicine, and a tutor in Pathology.

March 2009 – December 2013
RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Centre for Molecular Bacteriology and Infection (CMBI), Imperial College London

I identified a surface molecule involved in DNA uptake by Neisseria meningitidis that contributes to genetic diversity of bacteria. I engineered protein variants and used several biochemical methods to investigate protein-DNA interactions. I also investigated the vaccine potential of several surface proteins against meningococcal infection.
